Spaghetti Tetrazzini

1 lb. spaghetti
4 Tbs. butter
1 sm. onion, peeled & chopped
1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced
1 pt. half and half
1 c. chicken, cooked and shredded
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
3/4 c. parmesan cheese

Cook spaghetti. Melt butter in skillet on med. heat. Add onion and cook 3 min. Add mushrooms and cook 2-3 min. Add half and half and bring to boil on high heat, reduce heat and simmer 6-8 min. Stir in chicken and seasonings, cook for 1 min. Drain spaghetti and toss with the sauce in skillet and 1/2 of the cheese. Pass remaining cheese at table.
