Pumpkin Bread


2/3 c. shortening
2 2/3 c. sugar
4 eggs
16 oz. pumpkin
2/3 c. water
3 1/3 c. flour
2 ts. soda
1 1/2 ts. salt
1 1/2 ts. baking powder
1 ts. cinnamon
1 ts. cloves
2/3 c. chopped nuts, coarsley
2/3 c. raisins

Heat oven to 350. Grease 2 loaf pans, 9x5x3, or 3 loaf pans, 8 1/2x4 1/2. Cream shortening and sugar. Mix in eggs, pumpkin, and water. Blend in flour, soda, salt, baking powder, cinnamon and cloves. Stir in nuts and raisins, spread in the pans. Bake 65-70 min. Makes 2-3 loaves
